Anna Paula Uziel, psychologist, Ph.D. in Social Sciences at the State University of Campinas, associate professor at the Institute of Psychology/State University of Rio de Janeiro and at the Brazilian Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. Areas of activity: juridical psychology, family and sexuality. Conducts research on gay and lesbian parenting.

Horacio Sívori - anthropologist, B.A. from National University of Rosario, M.A. from New York University and Ph.D. from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Areas of interest: homosexuality, science and politics. Current research: expert knowledge, GLBT activism and Aids prevention in Argentina.

Jacqueline Costa, secretary of the Program on Gender, Sexuality and Health at the Institute of Social Medicine/State University of Rio de Janeiro since 1999. Has worked at major academic and research centers.

Jane Araujo Russo, psychologist and anthropologist, Ph.D. in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, associate professor at the Institute of Social Medicine/State University of Rio de Janeiro. Areas of activity: Psychological, psychoanalytic and psychiatric knowledge and practices. Conducts research on sexuality in contemporary psychiatric nosography.

Leila Araújo, educator. Areas of activity: gender, health and citizenship. Conducts projects in health education, women’s empowerment and social inclusion. At present working as project manager at the Program of Study and Research on Gender, Sexuality and Health at the Institute of Social Medicine/State University of Rio de Janeiro.

Maria Luiza Heilborn, historian and anthropologist, Ph.D. in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro; associate professor at the Institute of Social Medicne/State University of Rio de Janeiro. Areas of activity: gender, family and sexuality. Conducts research on homosexuality, youth and sexuality, and feminism in Brazil.

Sandra Infurna, librarian. Has developed projects in automation of private libraries, in nongovernmental and public organizations, and research on computerization and updating of websites of Brazilian universities.

Sérgio Carrara, anthropologist, Ph.D. in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, associate professor at the Institute of Social Medicine/State University of Rio de Janeiro. Areas of activity: history of science and medicine, law and sexuality. Conducts research projects on violence against women and gays and on the development of sexology in Brazil.

Washington Castilhos, journalist, worked at Oswaldo Cruz Foundation press agency. Areas of activity: sciences, technology and politics. Currently writes articles for the Latin American Center for Sexuality and Human Rights website.
